This Saturday, November 10th, I took a slew of Drama Students to Tampa to compete in our
District V Festival for International Thespian Society. We had 25 entries in a variety of
events: Solo Musical Theatre, Monologue, Costume Design, Duet Musical Theatre, Ensemble
Acting, Duet Acting, Large Group Musical.

We brought home: 2 Critics Choice Awards -- These are best of the best, cream of the crop,
and earned the highest superior rating….
Lexi Merritt, for her Playwriting Entry, titled "Boy-Polar"
Shelly Hassett, for her Costume Design Entry from the musical "Brigadoon"

Well, there is the information! The kids represented us wonderfully in talent, skill and
behavior! Even those who didn't earn the high ratings of Superior and Excellent, still
performed with a lot of heart and I thought they deserved top of the trees' awards!
