Dear Parents/Guardians:

Welcome to North Ft. Myers Academy for the Arts (NFMAA).  We are so excited that your child will be enrolling at NFMAA for the 2020-2021 school year. In previous years, we always scheduled a New Student Orientation in early May to better acquaint families with NFMAA. However, due to the COVID-19 Outbreak, we have had to reschedule this event for a later date and time.  Once we transition into late April or early May we will have a better idea on when the New Student Open House will be scheduled. Once that date has been established we will communicate that date with all of our families.

When the New Student Open House is reschedule, it will include the following:

All new incoming Kindergarten students to our school will receive a special welcome by meeting our Kindergarten teachers. Kindergarten is a very important developmental year for your child. We are looking forward to partnering with you to help your child grow and be successful in their first year of school. We will be presenting the Kindergarten expectations, rules, dress code, transportation, curriculum, and we will address any questions or concerns you have.

New middle school students will be able to select electives for the next year, as well, as sign up for auditions if they want to qualify for Advanced Dance, Drama, Band, Set Design, Technical Arts and Visual Arts.  All students can take beginning courses in each of these areas, but need to audition for advanced classes.

In addition to our New Student Open House, we will be inviting all incoming 6th grade students to attend a half-day 6th Grade Welcome and Orientation event on July 30, 2020. The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a general overview for parents and students in the theatre.  At 9:30 a.m. the students will remain with us and we will provide them a detailed orientation including having their pictures taken for ID cards, learning about Chrome books, and most importantly how to navigate a middle school schedule.  The students will also exchange classes and meet their administrators, teachers, and friends. We will also be providing lunch for them. Students will be dismissed to their parents in the parent pick-up line at 1:00 p.m. A reminder for the event will be sent home in June.

Once again, we are so happy your child will be attending NFMAA.

Sincerely,

Thomas C. Millins, Ed.D.
