Hello NFMAA Families,                                                                                                                           9/16/2020

It’s hard to believe we are in our third week of school already!  I would like to thank all of you for working with our teachers and staff to make this a smooth opening in Covid-19 times.  Our teachers and staff have been working hard with all of you to provide a safe, secure, art-minded, academic environment.  Please read through all of the important information and updates in each of the school-wide focus areas.

Thank you to all our families for following our new guidelines for the parent drop off/parent pick up.  This going smoothly because of your diligence and flexibility.  Please also note that we are following the districts sanitizing protocol procedures daily in our building to ensure everyone is as safe as possible.  We are also training our students on all drill procedures, so they will be comfortable in any emergency situation we may have in our building.

Teachers have been busy administering baseline assessments to be able to plan for enrichment and intervention opportunities for students.  Teachers will be analyzing the data and focusing on what each student needs to be successful.  It is very important that all students, Lee Home Connect and Face to Face students attend school each day so teachers can meet their educational needs.

Middle School

Some schedule changes are being made to properly place students in the correct reading levels based on benchmark and I-Ready assessments.

By now students should be enrolled in google classrooms for all of their classes.

We would like to congratulate Dr. Douglas Santini, one of our former principals and the Executive Director of Arts in the District, on his retirement, after 56 years.  Dr. Santini was the principal at the time Suncoast Elementary/Middle School transitioned into North Fort Myers Academy for the Arts.  His leadership and vision have been pivotal to the success of our school and district in the Arts.  We wish him the best!

At this time, the district is making last minute preparations for some Middle School Sports to ensure the safety of all participants.  Cross Country will be the first sport to be announced.  Stay tune for more information.
